Book Drive Initiative

Books have the power to inspire, educate, and transport readers to new worlds.

Hello Suzanne Cory!

You may have noticed some of the school’s newest clubs, Comic Club and Humanitarian Club, at this year’s club expo. As the leaders of these thriving clubs, we have collaborated to announce a fresh initiative to the school environment - a book drive!

Beginning in term two, we ask you to please bring your pre-loved comic books, novels and picture books to the donation box in the agora. The box will be available until late June with all proceeds going to Big Group Hug, which is a volunteer-driven charity that supports vulnerable children and families in crisis by distributing essential items like clothes, toys, books, and baby gear.

Some guidelines for the donations:

Please only donate books for babies to teens, in very good condition (no damaged pages or scribbles). Books mustn’t have any festive or religious themes nor family members as the focus of the story e.g. “my day with grandma”, as per the organization's requirements!

Books have the power to inspire, educate, and transport readers to new worlds. This gift provides a wealth of information and imagination which we wish to share with the underprivileged communities which Big Group Hug supports through the distribution of paperback-wonders, making stories and knowledge more accessible for all.

We encourage you to participate in this meaningful opportunity to provide to those in need, as an act of kindness and gratefulness, reflecting our core school values. Please email us if you have any questions!
