Werribee Zoo Biology Excursion

On Friday the 13th of March, we experienced the beauty of Werribee Open Range Zoo (located in Werribee). We arrived bright and early, ready for a day packed with adventure! It was a lovely day full of sunshine and happiness. All the animals were out and about! We saw the gorillas first, running around in their enclosure.

We then had time to go and explore the zoo. My friends and I personally wanted to get up close and personal with the hippos. The hippos were really cool and they helped me learn about various aspects of biology. My friend Tom Ajish felt that the hippos were really fat. “The hippos made me feel enjoyment”, he said.

Some of the other highlights included the lions, who dazzled us with their feline nature. There was also a variety of Australian animals at the zoo. There were kangaroos, snakes, parrots, heck even emus! One of the emus got out of the enclosure and was just walking around so we got up close and personal with it.

Finally, we made it to the highlight of the day. The safari. We sat down in the state of the art safari buses. Mr Drummond was in our carriage on the safari bus, and he was dropping banging jokes. We saw many animals such as giraffes, rhinos, zebras, even camels. I was personally having a great time. I was with my friends, it was beautiful weather and we saw some amazing animals. Best zoo trip ever!

ACMI Media Top Screen Excursion

If I told you that the media excursion was boring, I would be lying. If I told you that the media excursion was mediocre, I would also be lying.

This excursion was absolutely exquisite. Us media students were very lucky to have an opportunity of a lifetime. An opportunity to watch a plethora of stunning short films that were made were masterfully crafted by the most passionate directors. It is very safe to say that all of us were taken aback as to how influential and visually beautiful the films were. Watching these films has given us a huge amount of insight in regards to the process of creating our own films.

The film that was the most impactful and insightful  was titled “Steady as She Goes”, directed by Andrew Nguyen. In fact, it was so incredible that we couldn’t resist asking the director out to lunch. And in his grace, he granted us that wish. It was an opportunity of a lifetime to indulge in splendid foods in the city with such a renowned filmmaker.

Furthermore. We got to explore intriguing confines of the ACMI, learning the fascinating history of film, and its gradual evolution over the many decades.

Overall, this media excursion was the absolute best excursion that me, and everyone else had ever gone to. I absolutely recommend anybody with the slightest interest in media to take the subject so they may partake in a wonderful experience such as this, in fact I urge them to.
