AI and the Future of Work

Creating Better Jobs, Not Fewer

As students begin to consider their pathways beyond Year 12, conversations about the impact of artificial intelligence can often feel uncertain or even overwhelming. However, history shows that technological advances tend to create more, and often higher-quality jobs, while also enabling us to solve complex challenges faster and more effectively than ever before.

Importantly, Victorian universities are already responding proactively. Institutions such as Monash University and RMIT University offer specialised artificial intelligence degrees, alongside a wide range of courses that embed AI across disciplines, from business to science and technology, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for a rapidly evolving workforce.

Rather than fearing AI, it is essential that our young people learn to work alongside it, developing the confidence and capability to harness its potential.

This article provides a thoughtful and reassuring perspective for families and students navigating these decisions: https://studyworkgrow.com/pondering-careers-stop-telling-kids-ai-is-going-to-take-their-job/#ember74
