⚽ Soccer Success: Boys Fight Back, Girls Dominate!
On Tuesday, 21st April, the Intermediate Boys soccer team travelled to Monbulk to compete against Lilydale Heights.
They played one game, as the other two teams pulled out. It was a hard-fought match, with the boys going down 3–2 in the second half before pulling it back with the final kick of the game to win 4–3, thanks to a brilliant shot from Harry.
Good luck to the team as they now represent the school at the EMR stage.
Coach: Peter Bouw | Year 12
The Intermediate Girls participated in a soccer match against Emerald, who provided strong competition. I was asked to coach and was keen to help the girls progress further than they have before.
We entered the game with our heads high and positive energy, and even when we felt under pressure at times, we pushed on and succeeded.
Keira scored a hat-trick to lead the girls to an impressive 3–1 win.
The team adapted very well to the structures I set, and I was particularly impressed with the back line, who held a strict structure to ensure we didn’t concede many goals.
Overall, it was a great team performance, and we now look forward to the next round to continue improving.
