PARENT/CARER INFORMATION

📢 Unexplained Absences
We kindly ask all parents and carers to check their Compass Parent Portal and approve any unexplained absences that may still be outstanding for their son/daughter.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date attendance records for every student is a requirement, and we appreciate your ongoing support in helping us keep these records current.
If you are unable to log in to Compass or experience any difficulties approving absences, please contact the relevant Sub School Office Assistant for assistance.

After-School Study Hub
Thursdays | 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
School Library
Study Hub is a supportive space where all students can complete schoolwork or homework and receive assistance from teachers.
Study Hub aims to help students: strengthen their understanding of schoolwork, develop effective study habits and build confidence in their academic abilities.
To help students stay focused and feel comfortable while they work, we also provide:
Mr Gilby’s world-famous ham & cheese toasties.
Fresh fruit
A calm, relaxed atmosphere with chilled tunes
Whether your child needs to catch up, get ahead, or simply stay on track, Study Hub is a great way to build positive study habits in a supportive environment.
🚸 Student Safety Reminder – Marketplace and Hutchinson Street Bend
We continue to observe students loitering in the shopping precinct and crossing the road unsafely near the bend outside the Box Hill Institute driveway.
For their own safety, we ask that students avoid the shopping precinct during school hours and always use the pedestrian crossing when crossing the road.
We kindly ask parents and carers to reinforce this message at home and encourage their children to prioritise safe and sensible travel to and from school.
Thank you for your support in helping to keep our students safe.
School Uniform Reminder
As the colder weather arrives, students should wear full winter uniform and bring an approved school jumper or jacket each day.
Students are encouraged to wear invisible underlayers (such as thermals) for extra warmth.
While classrooms are heated, mornings can still be very cold and being warm and comfortable helps students stay focused and ready to learn.
❌ Please note:
- Hoodies, tracksuit pants and runners are not permitted
- Black, polishable hard leather shoes are required footwear
Approved school uniform items are available from LOWES, Lilydale Marketplace.
The co-operation of parents and carers is expected in delivering a high standard of appearance for students.
School Uniform Costs
Families experiencing difficulty meeting the cost of school uniforms are encouraged to contact the school to discuss the support that may be available.
This includes information about eligibility for assistance through State Schools’ Relief.
Mobile Phones and Headphones
A reminder to all students and families that headphones and mobile phones must be switched off and stored in lockers during school hours, including before school.
Students found using a mobile phone during school hours will receive a Principal’s After School Detention.
Exceptions to this policy may apply under certain conditions. Please refer to the school policy for further information.
If you need to contact your child during the school day, please phone the relevant Sub School Office or the Main Office on 9735 5644.
