๐๐ Year 10 into VCE Subject Expo
On Monday 27 April, during Period 3 (Thrive class), Year 10 students attended the Year 10 into VCE Subject Expo.
ย
Thrive teachers provided an overview of the Senior School Pathways course selection process, helping students feel informed and prepared to make thoughtful decisions about their VCE studies.
ย
Students also received a Planning Your VCE student handout, along with a Senior School Pathways Course Selection Guide. This resource included key questions to consider, prompts for discussions with teachers and Careers Practitioners, and guidance on which staff to speak with for each Key Learning Area and VCE subject at the Expo.
๐ Careers Expo Inspires Our Senior Students
On Monday 4 May, during Period 3, our Year 11 and 12 students attended the Lilydale High School Careers Expo.
ย
Students had the opportunity to connect directly with representatives from leading universities and training providers, including Swinburne University, Deakin University, Victoria University, Monash University, La Trobe University, Australian Catholic University, and Torrens University Australia.
ย
They also explored pathway options through TAFE and alternative providers such as Box Hill Institute, Deakin College, Richmond Institute, and Carlton College of Sport.
ย
For those considering hands-on career pathways, students learned about apprenticeships and traineeships with support from BUSY At Work.
ย
A highlight of the expo was hearing from Mr Aaron Violi, Federal Member for Casey, who shared valuable insights into careers in politics and answered studentsโ questions.
ย
Throughout the morning, students asked about courses, entry requirements, campus life, and career outcomes, while collecting useful resources to support their future planning.
ย
We were proud to support our students as they continue to explore their pathways beyond school and take confident steps toward their future ๐
