INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

🎶 Staffing
We are delighted to welcome back Mrs Morrow, who will be teaching flute and saxophone on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Mrs Morrow will also be conducting the LHS and Rookie Bands. We are thrilled to have her return and look forward to a wonderful year of music-making.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Mr Harrison, who stepped in during Term 1 in Mrs Morrow’s absence.
🎺 Rookie Band
Due to the Grade 6/Year 7 Sports Day, our Year 7 band students began their first rehearsal on Thursday 7 May (Period 3).
We look forward to hearing some fantastic music-making, followed by some well-earned treats at the end of the rehearsal.
🎮 Beethoven’s Gaming Quest
What if Beethoven was a video game composer?
On Thursday, 7 May, Ms Goode and Mr Winter took our Rookie Band members to Hamer Hall to attend a Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) performance, featuring the music of Beethoven reimagined as a video game score.
Following the performance, students visited the Australian Music Vault, PLAYit Video Arcade, and Mary Martin Bookshop, enjoying a fun and engaging day exploring music, creativity, and culture.
It was a fantastic experience for our students, bringing music to life in new and exciting ways.
