As we reach the midpoint of Term 3, I want to take a moment to reflect on the vibrant learning and achievements happening across our school, and share some important messages with you all.
Year 12 – Almost There!
To our Year 12 students, you are truly in the final stretch of your senior journey. Your hard work, determination, and resilience throughout this year have been inspiring. As you prepare to submit your major works and final assessments, please know the entire school community is cheering you on. Best of luck to those completing and submitting these critical projects – you’ve got this!
Our talented music students will soon perform for the HSC markers, showcasing the culmination of their dedication and passion. We wish them the very best of luck in these important performances.
Congratulations to Our Year 10 Debating Team
A special congratulations to our Year 10 debating team who were recently crowned Zone Champions! This is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment. A big thank you to Mr Chatwin for his excellent leadership in guiding this High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program and supporting our students to excel.
Duke of Edinburgh Program Update
Excitingly, our Duke of Edinburgh students have begun their training for the upcoming day hike and are preparing diligently for the Bronze expedition. We applaud their enthusiasm and dedication as they develop important skills and embrace this rewarding challenge. Thank you to Mr James Chandler for providing this program for our students.
A Huge Thank You to Our CAPA Team and Performers
Wow – I’d like to give a huge shout out to Andrew Faga and the entire CAPA team for their outstanding work on this year's Illuminate Showcase. The quality of last week’s performances and production was the best I have seen in my 20 years working in public schools. A huge thank you also goes to all our student performers who brought such energy and creativity to the event.
Strengthening Partnerships with Our Primary Schools
A significant highlight this term has been our ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships with our primary school colleagues, which is vital for seamless student transitions. During Week 3, eleven staff members from Cecil Hills had the privilege to visit Bonnyrigg Heights Public School and witness firsthand the engaging and authentic learning happening in their classrooms.
This collaborative visit was an excellent opportunity to share best practices and deepen our understanding of effective transition processes. On behalf of our staff who attended, I extend sincere thanks to Bonnyrigg Heights Public School. We look forward to continuing these valuable relationships and to hosting our primary colleagues here at Cecil Hills soon.
