Third place in the Table Tennis State Final for Senior Boys and Senior Girls!

On Wednesday 13 August, the Nossal Senior Boys Table Tennis Team journeyed to MSAC to compete at the State Finals for interschool Sport. The team of six were very excited to play in Pool B against Bendigo Senior Secondary College, Wodonga Senior Secondary College and University High School.

Nossal's top four seeds were able to clinch two comfortable victories in their opening two matches against Wodonga and Bendigo. The third pool match against University High School was by far our toughest so far, with the round ending at three matches each. Nossal was luckily able to get the win via the count back of sets. This victory secured the first place position in the Pool stage, locking in a spot in the semi finals. Then our team came up against Glen Waverley, who were unfortunately too strong on this occasion.

Nossal's Senior Boys Table Tennis Team ultimately brought home a 3rd place finish as a result of the hard work and training dedicated to this day. It was a great opportunity and also goes to show that Nossal can mix it with the very best!

A big congratulations to Do Hoang, Harry Zhou, Dhiira Slade, Sachin Raju, Joshua Jacob and Trevin Tirikawala for your efforts.

On the Wednesday 13 August, the Nossal Senior Girls Table Tennis Team also journeyed to MSAC to compete at the State Finals for interschool Sport which we were all very excited for.

In our first match we were up against St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox College and after very tight matches, we won the round 5 matches to 1. We then versed Bannockburn P-12 School and were also able to secure a victory. This meant that we qualified for the semi finals. In the semi final we played against Glen Waverley Secondary College who we unfortunately lost to, meaning that Nossal HS finished 3rd overall, an amazing effort!

A big shout out to Marion Liew, Parisa Shrestha, Sayu Perera, Julie Lor, Sara Qaium and Mehardeep Kaur.

Thanks to Mr. Armistead for training us at lunchtimes and helping coach us so that we were lucky enough to make the state finals in table tennis. Go Nossal!
