REMINDER: Important VTAC Application Information for Parents & Carers of Yr12 students

Year 12 students received two information sessions early this Term about applying for courses, Equity schemes (SEAS) and Scholarships through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). They have also been given resources, instructions, and walkthrough videos to guide them in completing their VTAC applications. All this information is available to Year 12 students in the Class of 2025 Careers channel on Teams.

What stage your Year 12 should be at in their application process:

Submitted at least one course preference in their VTAC course application – after payment they can continue to change courses listed in their course preferences during the Change of Preference period (see deadline reminders below).
Paid the VTAC application fee – $80 for timely applications submitted by 29 September.
Completing their Equity Schemes (SEAS) & Scholarships application before 10 October – only after submitting a course and making payment will they have access to this application.

VTAC application deadline reminders:

29 September: Final day to pay VTAC application fee of $80 (late fee $160–$200).
29 September (5pm): Medicine, Fine Arts and Music early closing courses must be submitted in course preference list and application fee paid – after this closing date these courses cannot be added to course preference list.
10 October (5pm): Equity Schemes (SEAS) & Scholarships applications close and deadline for submitting the required supporting documentation.
13 December (12 noon): Change of Preference closes for first round offers (see above for courses closing earlier on 29 September).

Westpac 2026 Young Technologists Scholarship Online Information Session – 25 September

Applications for Westpac Young Technologists Scholarships close 13 January 2026 and are valued up to $20,000 each. With a weeklong disruptive leaders program in Singapore and access to mentoring and networking opportunities, this scholarship is a unique opportunity to strengthen your passion and expertise in technology and inspire new ways of thinking. Essendon Fields Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) – Saturday 11 October

The Women in Aviation Australian Chapter are excited to share an upcoming opportunity for students: Girls in Aviation Day, taking place at Melbourne Heli Hangar, Essendon Fields. This free event is designed to inspire students aged 12–17 who identify as girls or non-binary, by introducing them to the diverse and exciting career pathways available in the aviation and aerospace industries. The day will include:

Aircraft and helicopter displays
Hands-on activities
Industry exhibitors from across aviation
Career insights from professionals in the field
A GIAD kit and lunch provided for all participants

Australian Youth Aerospace Forum applications open

The Australian Youth Aerospace Association (AYAA) invite your Year 11 and 12 students to apply for this year's Australian Youth Aerospace Forum (AYAF) running from 1st to 5th of December.

AYAF is a five-day residential program held at The University of Queensland, designed for students across Australia who are curious about careers in the aerospace industry. The forum aims to give students a hands-on look at the exciting opportunities available in both higher education and the wider aerospace sector after school.

Over the course of the week, attendees will connect with like-minded peers, engage with university students and academics, and hear directly from professionals working in the field. Past forums have featured everything from industry Q&A panels with pilots and engineers, to planetarium visits and live demonstrations at cutting-edge university labs.

The cost of $500 includes all meals, accommodation, activities, and local transport during the program. Interested students are to visit the AYAF website for further details about what the week involves, student testimonials and to access the application form. Applications close 13 October.
