ICAS English Competition

This week, all Year 9, Year 10 World classic and Year 11 Literature students competed in the ICAS competition where students showed off their amazing English skills in a series of questions which tested our comprehension skills. I enjoyed being able to test my skills in a range of questions which challenged me greatly!
Everyone should be proud of how well they did, regardless of the result, I would like to thank the English Department for making this all possible!

During week four, Year Ten World Classics students were given the exciting opportunity to participate in the ICAS English competition.
With a total of fifty-five questions to complete in sixty minutes, the experience was challenging yet rewarding and certainly supported the development of our English skills. The texts in this competition ranged from poetry to informative texts. Many of the questions prompted us to reflect on how certain words and textual features were used to convey a certain message, deepening our understanding of language and its impact. Overall, it was a valuable experience, and we're thankful we could participate!
