SRC Excels!

Sally Goss
Assistant Principal
As we come to the end of another vibrant school year, it is with gratitude and pride that we celebrate the achievements of our outgoing Student Representative Council. This exceptional group of students has worked tirelessly to serve our school community, embodying leadership and school spirit in everything they have undertaken.
Throughout the year, the SRC demonstrated remarkable dedication in organising events that not only brought our school together, but also made a meaningful difference. Two standout highlights were the MND Big Freeze and the World’s Greatest Shave both of which raised a significant amount of money for deserving charities.
The MND Big Freeze was a resounding success, drawing huge crowds, plenty of laughter, and a great group of participants. Our SRC led the charge in raising awareness and vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease research.
Similarly, the World’s Greatest Shave event was a powerful display of solidarity and courage. Thank you to Marco Holmes, Shalini Akhil and Tim Roach who bravely shaved their heads and beards. Thanks to their leadership, our school contributed generously to the fight against blood cancer, proving once again the strength of our community when we come together.
Beyond these major fundraising ventures the SRC has been a formidable force in enhancing student life through assemblies, advocacy, lunchtime activities, and countless behind-the-scenes efforts including the mammoth job of setting up and packing up the Twilight Market. Unseen tasks such as this often go unnoticed but are crucial to the success of an event as they support and promote the connections within our school and to the wider community. the SRC's efforts are deeply appreciated by everyone who has benefited from their hard work!
To our outgoing SRC members: thank you. Your energy, creativity, and commitment have shaped a memorable year for our school. You have set a high standard for leadership, and your legacy will no doubt inspire future SRC teams for years to come.
A special thank you to our ongoing Year 12 leaders, Harper Hopkins, Campbell Brain, Luci Hart, Marco Holmes, Jennylyn Blondin, Ava Wolfe and Kizmet Omerogullari. We wish you well as you move into life beyond BSC and know you will take your leadership skills and use them well.
We wish each of you the very best in your future endeavours and hope you look back on your time in the SRC with pride. You have truly made a difference.
