Year 8 Spirit!

The 2025 Year 8 cohort are an awesome bunch of students!

Term 4 Home Group sessions gave us a chance to celebrate the year, with students playing a leading role in our final Assembly as well as devising and participating in some end-of-year activities. 

Throughout the term students staged fundraising bake sales and a Food Drive,  and to cap it off students devised and hosted a fantastic range of activities for the Year 8 Celebration during the last Home Group session of the year.

Food Drive

Our Food Drive project was conceived as part of Year 8’s Community Projects in Homegroup. 

•  In our first week we figured out all the logistics for the food drive. This included sending a proposal email to Ms Goss, designing our poster, organising a timeline and working out our roles. 
• The week after that we sent out a post on Teams to advertise it and started to finalise all aspects of the food drive.
• The next week we printed out the posters and put them all around the school. 
• We then talked to Ray (Maintenance) about acquiring bins and collected them the next week. 
• The same day we collected them, we put the bins around the school so they would be ready for donations. 
• We kept the bins out for two weeks and then on the last day of school we put all the donations into one bin and wheeled it to the pantry we were donating to. 

Overall we managed to collect nearly one whole bin’s worth of donations and all of those were delivered to the community pantry!
