Year 8 Baseball/Softball

On 25 March the Year 8 Baseball and Softball teams travelled to Gilbert Park to compete in the division tournament. The Boys team managed to win two out of three games but still claimed the division title via a countback. Best players for the boys were Ari K and Arin S. Big thanks to student coaches Angus D and Curtis C for helping with this team.

The girls were a combined Year 7 and 8 team and won their first game 12-10 in a very exciting match. Unfortunately the girls lost to East Doncaster SC in the final. Best player was Ruchitha P.

The Boys A and B teams won all of their games for the day, A team with a close nail-biting game against East Doncaster, only winning by a mere two points. The C team also had three of four wins. The Boys A team will play at regionals at the end of October.

Year 7 Baseball

A sensational day of Year 7 Baseball took place on 1 April. We were expertly coached by Xavier B and Alex H whose enthusiasm and coaching skill was evident throughout the three matches.

Our first game was against East Doncaster SC but we lost 8-3. A special mention to Sean O who played catcher for us during the three matches and was outstanding, putting his body on the line with every catch the pitcher threw. Dylan G was also amazing, stealing bases like a professional, and Lachlan H who hit a home run.

We then played Koonung SC and won with a score of 13 to 9. A special mention to Noah P who stepped up and took some outstanding catches during the match and Ezra M who did a great job of pitching.

Our final match against Blackburn High was a nail-biter. The first and second innings saw the value of Dylan G’s precise pitching, and Noah P taking another outstanding catch, coupled with some excellent stealing of bases by Darcy H. It was 7-all at the end of the second innings. The third innings saw Alex S take an amazing catch in the outfield to get the first batter out and we ended with a draw against Blackburn High – 8 all.

A great team effort by all involved.

Our Year 7 Baseball players: Lachlan B, Kurtis C, Dylan G, Lachlan H, Darcy H, Ezra M, Sean O, Noah P, Alex S, Mohammad U, Lut W. Thanks to Mr Tim Snow for his guidance during play.

EMR Intermediate Girls Tennis

The girls went into regionals on 24 April confident they could compete and perhaps make it through to the state finals. They started very well, easily defeating John Monash SS and Balwyn HS 6-0. This set up a showdown with the undefeated Rowville in the final.

Unfortunately the girls were outclassed by Rowville but pushed them more than any other team on the day. The team consisted of Pakhi K, Akshara K, Angela A, Clarisa S, Ruchi S and Jen H.

Senior Badminton

On 1 May, Year 11 and 12 students represented Box Hill High School at the 2025 Whitehorse Division Senior Badminton competition. BHHS competed against Blackburn HS, East Doncaster SC and Koonung SC. Each student tried their best and demonstrated great sportsmanship.
