Term 2 finds the library buzzing with clubs, new books, workshops, masterclasses and old photos as we prepare for the 95th anniversary celebrations.
We put it to the students to consider why they gravitate towards certain types of movies or books. What we choose can provide insight into our personalities and hidden desires….
The library’s Masterclass covered the following genres – Crime and Mystery Stories, Historical Stories, Fantasy Stories and Sci-Fi Stories.
Students had the opportunity to browse the shelves and could borrow at the end of the presentation. We had a blast talking about Sci-Fi, dropped clues about the best crime novels, dreamed up new magical powers and learned that the Dark Ages were named so because there were so many knights!
See header image of this article for a peek at the Masterclass in action.
Ying Yu, our incredibly talented Library Assistant held a workshop for crafty students who wanted to learn the process of handmade flower-making over a series of three workshops.
These workshops developed students' creativity, fine motor skills, patience and perseverance. The results were bunches of beautiful everlasting flowers right in time for Mother’s Day!
The Library has a new club in the roster, Puzzle Club! Students can puzzle for fun with their friends every Wednesday in Room 217.
But there is also a competitive option, we are looking for a team of four students who can complete a 500-piece puzzle together with a timer. We send in the time taken to the Victorian Jigsaw Puzzle Association in hopes of being quick enough to get into the schools’ division of the Victorian Jigsaw Puzzle Championship. If this sounds fun to you, then you might be the missing piece that we need!
