Learning in Year 4

Take a look at all the learning the Year 4 students have been up to.
English
We have been busy developing our persuasive writing skills. Students have been learning how to use a range of persuasive devices to clearly state and support their arguments. We are also thoroughly enjoying our class novel, The BFG, while continuing to strengthen our reading comprehension skills through rich class discussions and activities.
Maths
Students have greatly enjoyed our unit on length, particularly our learning around area and perimeter. We have explored real-life applications by measuring the courts, playgrounds, and other areas around the school. Students have also been using LEGO to design and create their very own creates such as vegetable gardens, applying their mathematical understanding in a hands-on and creative way.
Aquinas Sports
The Year 4 students have been very fortunate to work alongside the Aquinas Sports students, who have been coaching and supporting them in developing their skills in tennis, basketball, and soccer. The students have loved the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and participate in a range of fun sporting activities.
Reminders
As the weather becomes cooler, we are beginning to see more coughs and sniffles. A friendly reminder to please keep your child at home if they are feeling unwell to help prevent germs from spreading throughout the classroom.
We kindly ask if you could please bring in a box of tissues for the classroom.
