It has been a busy and exciting few weeks at school, with many wonderful opportunities for students, staff and families to come together and celebrate learning and community.
One of the highlights was our Education Week Open Night, centred around this year’s theme, “Showcase Your School”. It was fantastic to see so many families join us for an evening of fun and learning. Families walked the red carpet at the front entrance before collecting their scavenger hunt booklet and travelling between classrooms and activities to collect mystery letters and crack the mystery word. Once completed, families entered the raffle draw and finished the evening at the photo booth. The raffle prize of 4 movie tickets will be drawn at our next assembly — good luck to all entrants!
There was something for everyone to enjoy, including literacy and numeracy games, mini golf, pickleball, LEGO Club, Indonesian games, wellbeing activities linked to our school values and student performances. A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers and to the new Queen of the BBQ, Miss Clark, for making the sausage sizzle happen on a chilly evening!
We also recently celebrated our amazing Education Support staff team. With close to 40 ES staff now supporting students across the school, we took the opportunity to thank them for the incredible work they do each day. Staff were celebrated with a special morning tea, crowns decorated by students and jars filled with thoughtful notes sharing all the reasons they are appreciated and valued within our school community.
It was also lovely to welcome prospective families to our recent Prep Information Night. We enjoyed sharing information about our Prep program and giving families a glimpse into our beautiful school community. We look forward to welcoming many new families in the future.
Year 5 & 6 Camp
Year 5 and 6 Camp
Year 5 and 6 have just returned from an incredible time away at camp, and what an experience it was!
Camp provides so much more than just fun activities. It gives students the opportunity to challenge themselves, build resilience, strengthen friendships and discover what they are truly capable of achieving. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, stepping outside their comfort zones and celebrating each other’s successes.
Even as adults, camp can challenge us. I was convinced by some very persuasive Year 6 students to take on both the giant swing and the flying fox, experiences that were certainly well outside my comfort zone.Their encouragement, enthusiasm and belief that I could do it inspired me to be brave, and I am so grateful they pushed me to give it a go.
The camp organisers commented repeatedly on the outstanding manners, behaviour and enthusiasm of our students. They were particularly impressed by the willingness of our students to challenge themselves, overcome fears and support one another through every activity. As a school, we were so proud of the way our students represented us throughout the camp experience.
A very special thank you must also go to our teachers, Education Support staff and parent helpers who attended camp. School camp is a 24-hour job, requiring energy, patience, care and constant support for our students. From early mornings to late nights, our team ensured every child felt encouraged and included throughout the entire experience. We simply could not provide these opportunities without the dedication and commitment of such an amazing team and their support.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our school.
Warm regards
