Miss Hiller
Miss Hiller is heading into her last few weeks before she heads off on maternity leave. We wish her all the best and look forward to seeing her in early Term 2 when she drops in to say hello with her little bub!
Regional Swimmers
Our Regional swimmers headed off to Shepparton today. Billie A, Olivia D, Indi and Annabelle represented our Yr 5’s. We look forward to hearing how they went either individually or as a relay team.
Learning Conversations
Learning conversations have been taking place this week. We thank parents/guardians for coming in to catch up with their teachers.
NAPLAN
We congratulate and thank all the students for their efforts during the NAPLAN testing.
Well done.
Awareness for World Down Syndrome Day
This Friday 20th, students can wear their boldest, brightest, most eye-catching socks to help raise and promote awareness, acceptance and inclusion for Down Syndrome Day which is being celebrated around the world the next day, Saturday 21st March.
Religion
In Religion, ‘How can Lent transform our lives?’ The students are currently completing a ‘Major Assessment Task’ in Religion classes. Thanks to Miss Hillier and Mrs Boyer, the students are using broken tiles, plates and glass to complete a mosaics piece. You will love the finished product when they bring it home at the end of term.
Literacy
Our class novel, War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, has been completed. The students will celebrate at the end of term by watching the movie version of the novel.
Maths
The students have begun looking into and learning multiplication strategies including split strategy, area strategy and formal algorithms of 2 digit x 1 digit and 2 digit x digit plus plenty of times tables learning, problem solving and word sentences.
