The Big Walk
As mentioned in an email sent to all families last week we will be holding THE BIG WALK Thursday April 2nd as part of our commitment to Project Compassion and Caritas. This walk has a twofold purpose raising money as well as our children walking for 90 mins carrying buckets of water. This walk provides the chance for our students to walk in the shoes of those who must walk kms every day to collect water.
In colour house teams we will walk within the circumference of the school (approx 1km laps) carrying buckets of water (10 per team) We encourage students to come dressed in their house colours.
To commence the day, we will have a whole school Holy Week liturgy in the Mercy Centre led by our yr 6 students. 8.55-9.45: as normal 9.45- 10.30: whole school Holy Week liturgy in the Mercy Centre lead by Yr 6 students. 10:30-11.10 Recess 11.15 Gather on basketball court in house teams with hats and drink bottles 11:15-12.45: Walking laps 12.45-1:30: At the conclusion of the walk all students will eat lunch together on the basketball courts and surrounding grass areas. 1.30 back to class for early dismissal at 2.15
We warmly invite families to join us. All parents and family members are welcome to join us for all or parts of the day. Parents who join us for the walk and lunch can take children home straight after lunch after notifying the classroom teacher.
All families should have received a Project Compassion box, and I encourage children to return that box, if it is being used, on the last day of school. However, if it is easier there is also an opportunity to donate through our own fundraising page (see link below). There are set amounts to donate however if you scroll down the page, you can choose your own amount.

We hope to see as many families as possible and or friends join us for our Liturgy, walk and lunch. Any queries please contact me here at school.
Children’s liturgy
Every Sunday during lent Natalie Crummy will be holding Children’s liturgy during Sunday Mass. This is a great opportunity for our children to be part of some fun learning about the Gospel of the day. Natalie does a great job and the children enjoy being a part of this experience.
Slave Free Easter
Post for A Prayer
Thanks to every who got in the spirit of St Patrick’s Day yesterday and dressed in green for a gold coin donation. Well done also to our yr 6 Justice Team who coordinated the fun. We will let you know how much Sacred Heart Corryong and St Michael’s at Tallangatta receive for their fence post appeal when it is tallied.
Thank you to everyone for your support and generosity that you show in giving to others.
Take care everyone,

Fourth Week of Lent
This Lent, our school community has answered the call to Unite Against Poverty as part of Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. We are proud to join thousands of others across Australia to create real, lasting change for people like Manaini.
Manaini is a mother of six and a grandmother of two living in rural Fiji. Life has always been a struggle - holding back tears, she shared: “The thing I worry about the most is my children’s education. The requirements that need to be met are hard for me to try and achieve with my daily income”.
Thanks to the generosity of schools like ours, Manaini joined training offered by Caritas Australia’s local partner, FRIEND. Through the program, she learnt food processing skills to transform leftovers from crops into flour, improving her family’s nutrition and increasing her weekly income to support her children’s education. “The project totally changed the life of my family and even the community,” Manaini said.
Watch Manaini’s story HERE to see how the actions of our school community today can create a lasting legacy of impact and change that will be felt for generations to come.
There is still time for you to be a part of that legacy - will you join us and stand with people like Manaini this Lent?
