Learning & Teaching

At St Joseph’s, our homework policy is designed to support learning, wellbeing and positive family routines. Research shows that large amounts of traditional homework in primary schools do not significantly improve outcomes, so our approach focuses on meaningful activities such as reading, practising mathematics, and engaging in real-life learning experiences. We believe homework should strengthen classroom learning while also fostering independence, confidence and a love of learning at home.
