I SPY PREPS WITH THEIR BUDDIES GOING ON A SHAPE HUNT
Our Preps had a wonderful afternoon on Wednesday with their Year 6 buddies this week! As part of our learning about collecting and representing data, we headed out around the school for an exciting shape hunt.
We worked with our buddies to find shapes hidden all around us. We spotted squares, circles, triangles and rectangles, and even discovered a pentagon hiding inside the senior ninja ropes! It was so much fun looking carefully and finding shapes in unexpected places. We practised recording our findings using tally marks, making sure our data was accurate.
Back in the classroom, we used the data we collected to construct a simple bar graph. Our Year 6 buddies then asked us questions that we could answer by reading our graphs. It was fantastic to see our Preps confidently talking about their data and explaining what their graphs showed.
We are becoming more and more confident at collecting, recording and interpreting data. Go Preps!
