Principal Report
Our school is located on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
As we continue through Term 2, our focus on Building Brilliance through the Little Things remains at the heart of all we do at Boroondara Park Primary School. Across our school community, we are working to be purposeful, resilient, grounded, protective and adaptable in both our learning and relationships.
This term, students and staff have embraced purposeful practices through targeted professional learning and supporting attendance. We continue to build resilience by fostering a positive mindset across the school, while remaining grounded in our school values of respect, care, inclusion and responsibility.
Our community spirit has been evident through school tours, readiness sessions and volunteerism at school events.
Upcoming Tours
Tuesday May 19th - 9:30am & 11:30am
Also available by appointment
Upcoming Readiness Sessions
Tuesday June 9th - Readiness session #2 - Numeracy & STEM
We also continue to advocate strongly for our school through building upgrade projects, community partnerships and visits to local high schools. Recent visits and connections with local secondary schools, including Balwyn High School have further supported student transition pathways.
Our community events have once again highlighted the strength of our school community, with the Mother’s Day Stall, Mother’s Day Dinner and Cross Country events all providing wonderful opportunities for connection and celebration.
At Boroondara Park Primary School, we are excited to celebrate Education Week by opening our doors to our community and showcasing the wonderful learning taking place across our school.
On Tuesday May 19th, we look forward to welcoming grandparents and special visitors for Grandparents Day, providing students with the opportunity to share their learning and school experiences.
We will also be hosting school tours at 9:30am and 11:30am for prospective families to explore our learning spaces, meet staff and experience the vibrant community that makes Boroondara Park such a special place to learn and grow.
Staff professional learning has included Responsive Teaching. Responsive teaching is an approach to teaching where educators continually adjust their instruction based on students’ learning needs, strengths, interests and progress. It involves using assessment, observation and student feedback to tailor lessons, provide targeted support and extend learning where needed.
Responsive teaching helps ensure all students are engaged, challenged and supported to achieve success
Kind regards,
