Yesterday was RUOK? Day – a national reminder of the power of a simple conversation. Checking in with each other can make a real difference, not just on RUOK? Day but every day. Asking “Are you OK?” and being ready to listen can help someone feel supported and less alone.
You don’t need to be an expert – just a good friend, colleague or family member. The RUOK? conversation steps (see poster) give us all a practical way to start. Let’s continue to look out for one another and make kindness and connection part of our everyday culture.
