Head of Year 7 & 8 News
Ms Vanessa Masters

Year 8 students have been busy fundraising for the 2026 Year 8 camp from Monday 7th – Thursday 10th December, which is the final week of Term 4. To keep the cost of the camp as low as possible, a number of fundraising opportunities are being undertaken by students. Camp information and permission forms will be sent home as soon as we have a more accurate picture of how much we are able to fundraise.
Thank you to all students who have supported the fundraising effort so far with the Legends of Beef clean-up, the Toogoolawah SHS Cross Country drinks and icy cup stall, the Student Council recycling program, the Somerset Cup stall, and to those who are volunteering their time to help me with the Esk Grand Hotel raffle. There will be some further opportunities to fundraise at school events during the year, as well as the popular Coff & Co. Pie Drive.

The Winter Pie Drive is now underway to raise funds for the Year 8 Camp to Tangalooma at the end of the year. A selection of family size sweet and savoury pies baked by Coff & Co Bakery are available to order. Pie drive information and order forms were distributed to students on Wednesday. If any students missed out on receiving an order form, they can see Ms Masters in K block staffroom or drop into the office to collect one.
Order forms and payment are due by Tuesday 21st July.
There are options for payment this year:
· Option 1 - return order form with cash payment to Ms Masters in K Block staffroom or to the school office.
· Option 2 - return completed order form and make a direct debit payment.
Pies will be delivered and ready for collection on Thursday 30th July (Week 3, Term 3). Orders will be sorted and grouped according to the order sheets. The time and collection point will be communicated closer to the delivery date.
Students with Term 2 attendance at 95 percent or above are invited to grab a hotdog and soft drink at the attendance reward lunch on Monday 20th July (Week 2). Attendance lists will be posted on Daymap on Thursday 16th July. Lists will also be posted around the school and in Mr Nielsen’s office window at B block. It is recommended that students check the list for their name and remember to line up for a hotdog on the day.
