A Note from the Principal
Mr Phil Reid

This term, our highly talented and dedicated students and staff showcased the 2026 musical – Seussical Jr. It was an incredible show that came to fruition after many months of rehearsals and meticulous planning. Congratulations to all students and staff who were involved in the production this year. It was an amazing show that was well supported by our broader community.
Our Year 11 cohort recently engaged in the leadership Camp at Emu Gully. Feedback from camp staff was overwhelmingly positive in regard to our students’ effort, behaviour and commitment to all activities and challenges throughout the camp. Year 11 students strengthened bonds and created a united position moving forward into their final year of schooling. Thank you to Mrs Lovelock for leading this important camp for our students, as well as Mr Beacham and Mrs Kruger who supported throughout.
We are very excited to be able to offer an opportunity for students to engage in a wonderful opportunity through a two-week trip to Vietnam in the September / October school holidays in 2027. Information around this has been shared on our Facebook page as well as emailed home to families. We have had a strong response through the initial expression of interest process, and we have hosted an online meeting in Week 10 of this Term for families of those students that have expressed interest regarding further information around the trip, as well as next steps.
Thank you to everyone who has completed the brief Forms survey that has been distributed to all parents around Daymap usage. If you have not yet had the chance to complete this short survey, please complete it as soon as possible as the survey closes at 5:00pm on Friday June 26.
The school continues its consultation with the P&C and school community regarding some proposed amendments to the TSHS Uniform Policy moving forward. Progress towards a final policy for the future is tracking well. At this time, the consultation is in the early phases. Please note: there are no proposed changes to the newly implemented uniform itself. Further information around this will be shared with community moving forward.
Our 2nd C.A.R.R. (Committed to Achievement, Respectful, Responsible) Awards Ceremony will be held at 9:00am on Thursday July 30. Parents of students who are receiving this award will receive an invitation to attend the ceremony early in Term 3. This award acknowledges and celebrates students’ excellent effort and behaviour demonstrated by students throughout the previous semester. We look forward to hosting this important ceremony in Week 3 next Term.
Please calendarise our parent/teacher interviews that will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday July 28. We look forward to meeting with as many families as possible that afternoon. Booking information will be shared with community early Term 3.
This year throughout Semester 1, we have moved to a revised newsletter publication schedule in Weeks 5 and 10 only during Terms 1 and 2, 2026. Prior to this, the TSHS newsletter was published fortnightly. We are very keen to receive feedback from community around the Weeks 5 and 10 publication each Term. Should you wish to provide feedback, please feel free to do so via email at feedback@toogoolawahshs.eq.edu.au.
Kind regards,
Phil Reid
