Happy Last week of Term 1.

Happy Easter!

As we come to the end of a successful Term 1, we give thanks for the efforts, growth, and learning that have taken place over these past weeks. It has been a term marked by hard work, kindness, and perseverance.

We thank all those families who supported our learning in our book 'Off we go around Australia', we received some wonderful maps with photos, diagrams and pictures. We loved how personalised each child's map, and we hope this has opened up many conversations about places, states and territories around Australia.

Learning Highlights

  • Our novel "Matilda', understanding the characters of Matilda, Miss Honey and Ms Trunchbull.
  • Watching 'Matilda' the movie and making connections with our novel.
  • Our Narrative and persuasive work around Matilda, making up new characters as well as, explaining books are better than screens.
  • Reading 'Off we go around Australia' and laughing at all the wonderful Illustrations from Roland Harvey!
  • Maths units, in particular creating our own vegetable gardens using arrays.
  • Finding out all about gravity and mass in our Science unit; will a pencil and whiteboard maker fall at the same time?
  • Learning about those special people who followed Jesus.
  • Making Lent Trees with the three pillars of Lent; Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving.

During Lent, we are invited to pause, reflect, and renew our hearts—through sacrifice, prayer, and care for others. As we now celebrate Easter, we rejoice in the hope, new life, and joy of the Resurrection.

May this Easter season be a time of rest, renewal, and gratitude for all that has been achieved, and may it remind us to carry compassion, hope, and faith into the term ahead.

Wishing you all a safe, joyful, and blessed Easter break.
