Grade 2 News

Dear Families,

As we wrap up Term 1, we would like to reflect on what has been a wonderful and productive start to the year for our Grade 2 students.

It has been fantastic to see how well students have settled into their classroom routines, built positive relationships, and approached their learning with enthusiasm and confidence.

Learning Highlights

In Mathematics, students have been focusing on addition and subtraction. They have been developing their understanding of number concepts and practising a range of strategies to solve problems with increasing confidence.

In Literacy, students have explored both narrative and procedural writing. They have been learning how to structure stories with a clear beginning, middle, and end, as well as how to write clear, step-by-step instructions for procedural texts.

In Religion, students have been learning about Holy Week, deepening their understanding of its significance and reflecting on its meaning.

In Humanities, we have been exploring the past and present, helping students understand how things have changed over time and encouraging them to make connections between then and now.

Reminders

A friendly reminder that reading at home each day is essential in supporting your child’s progress.

Term 2 commences Tuesday 21st April.

Looking Ahead

We are incredibly proud of the progress all students have made this term and look forward to continuing their learning journey in Term 2.

Thank you for your continued support. We wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday break.

Warm regards, The Grade 2 Team
