Performing Arts

What a busy term!
I am very proud of each and every student for challenging themselves and striving to achieve big tasks. I have seen wonderful results across the Performing Arts areas of music, drama and dance. Well done everyone and I can't wait to see you all perform, sing or play at the Easter Play on Thursday.
The Foundation students have worked hard to learn their song for the Easter Play.
Here are some wow work from the Foundation students this term. I look forward to more singing and dancing next term with the students!
The Grade 1 students have learnt a series of dance movements in unison. It looks wonderful when each student moves at the same time in the right direction. Super work everyone!
The Grade 2 students studied the difference between beat and rhythm. They learnt a traditional English song called, 'Bow Wow' and looked at a beat rhythm chart for this song.
tudents enjoyed performing a partner dance whilst singing, 'Bow Wow.' They even mastered spinning and changing partners. How clever!
The Grade Three students listened to 'Flight of the Bumble Bee' composed by the Russian composer, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1899.
This orchestral piece highlights the fast pace played by the string section to create the sound of the bumble bee and the woodwind instruments played up and down the scale to create the darting movement of the bee. The students loved this piece!
