Italian

Foundation students have been working hard on creating an Italian book which they wrote, drew and coloured. The main characters are themselves!

In the story they all went for an adventure. Some chose to swim in the ocean, others went up into space, and a group took a walk in a magical forest.

Every class created a book that is now in each classroom for everybody to enjoy!

Grades 1 and 2 are now expert Italian writers, we went through easier and trickier sounds and we practice their writing. During their writing they also had to practice their detectives' skills discovering a mystery! What’s the name of the famous Italian spiders who helps every Italian student to learn the sound “GN”?

Grade 3 and 4, after working on Italian rules about genders, are now working on new Italian vocabulary about houses and rooms. We started by discussing differences between Italian and Australian houses, which gave us the opportunity to discover more about Italian culture, life and their own Australian ones. Now we started to talk about every different house room and their furniture which is giving the opportunity to the students to use their imagination to create their future homes.

Grades 5 and 6 are still focused on Italian verbs. They have been practicing, thanks to different activities and games, with the Italian verbs ‘to be” and “to have” which are quite tricky and different from the Australian ones.

We are now ready to learn how to use the present tense of every other common Italian verb!
