Junior Mayor of Kingston Competition and CSEN Public Speaking Competition

Junior Mayor of Kingston Competition

As part of our Primary Leadership Program, selected Grade 6 leaders proudly took part in the annual Junior Mayor of Kingston competition. Each year, the City of Kingston hosts the Junior Mayor Elections, inviting primary schools to present on a selected topic. This is a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on and speak about issues that impact young people, while sharing their ideas with others in the community.

This year’s prompt asked students: What are three ways Council could help young people get involved in activities, programs, and decisions within the community?

Well done to our Primary Leaders who represented Christway so thoughtfully and confidently. We are very proud of the way you conducted yourselves throughout the event.

CSEN Public Speaking Competition

Grade 6 students proudly represented Christway in the CSEN Public Speaking Competition. The Public Speaking Championships encourage students to dig deep and find courage and confidence through the delivery of outstanding speeches. During the competition, students were required to present both a prepared speech and an impromptu speech. We were incredibly proud of our students, who not only delivered excellent presentations but also represented our school with maturity, confidence, and excellence.
