Students’ Reflections on the Summit Camp
During the eventful and much-anticipated Week 4 of Term 2, the Year 8s and Year 7s, including myself, went to the well-renowned camp in Trafalgar East known as The Summit. The camp was very enjoyable and fun, with its amazing activities that made it all worthwhile. Some of my personal favourite activities, though some were physically challenging, included the Snowy River Challenge, the Bush Challenge, and finally, the Monster Course Mud Run. In short, I mainly enjoyed obstacle courses.

The Summit was a camp full of adventure. It taught us to believe in ourselves and to always try our best. My favorite activity at camp was the Rock Wall. This was an event where a student was equipped with a harness, and they climbed up a rock-climbing wall until they rang the bell at the top. Overall, camp was a wonderful experience, and it helped me get out of my comfort zone.

The Summit camp gave us unforgettable memories that we will forever cherish. The Summit staff helped us with many activities and made sure we were safe and having fun. One of the fun activities I enjoyed was Tash's Ladder because the view was amazing. When you got up on the ladder, you could see the whole lake and different areas of the camp that you could not see from the ground. They also had many other fun activities and games that required different skills, such as teamwork and resilience, and encouraged us to get out of our comfort zone. Overall, camp was fun and gave me a reality check.

The Summit camp was a fun and challenging experience where we were encouraged to do a range of different activities. One of the activities was Laser Skirmish, which was basically an outdoor laser tag game led by the legendary Jeff. It was an exciting but calmer activity compared to the other ones and required teamwork. Being able to run and shoot people with lasers without getting in trouble was fun.

During camp at The Summit, we experienced a wide range of fun activities; in total, there were 15 activities. The Monster Run (The Mud Run) was a key activity that required us to work together and help others. Throughout the course, we had to carry a car tyre and link arms whenever we had to move to the next spot, which was a bit tiring. Most of us got wet and muddy, but when we crossed the finish line, there was a twist. After the event, we washed off by going on the water slide. Overall, what we learned from this was that we work better when we work together.
