Interschool Sport

It has been an action packed second half of Term 3, with plenty of different sport events, ranging through the whole Darebin, North Metro Region and State pathway!
Darebin
There were Year 7-10 events for Basketball, Table Tennis and Hockey. As has been the case all year, there was plenty of interest in trying out for the teams from our students! Special mention to our teams that went on to win their respective event days, earning qualification for the upcoming regional finals; Y9/10 Girls Hockey, Y7 Girls Hockey, Y7/8 Boys Hockey, Y8 Girls Table Tennis.
North Metro Region
Our teams that qualified through the Darebin stages to regionals, all performed exceptionally well when it came time for their turn at NMR finals. The two stand outs were the Y9/10 Girls Soccer and Y7 Girls Badminton teams that won through to compete at the State Finals.
The NMR Athletics Carnival was held on Wednesday September 9 at Meadowglen, Epping. The strong wind made conditions tough to compete in, but our 25 students represented the school with distinction. This included an incredible 13 gold medals from our athletes! The event winners will now progress through to the State Track & Field Championships at Lakeside Stadium on October 16. Special mention to Evan Kondys (Y10) and Maddie Carr-Howes (Y7) who have now qualified for both the Cross Country and Track & Field State events this year!
State
The Y9/10 Girls Soccer team competed at the State Finals in week 9 of term. Our side had a good win in the first game of the three pool games, coming up against strong opponents throughout.
The Y7 Girls Badminton team were exceptional at the State Finals, making it through the pool rounds to compete in the Semi Final, where they were defeated by a quality Balwyn High School team.
