McAuley End of Term Highlights
As we look back on the term, there have been plenty of moments worth celebrating in McAuley. From a pastoral perspective, some of the biggest wins aren’t always the ones that come with a trophy or certificate — they are the moments where students connect, challenge themselves and grow together.
In the short time that I have been acting as the Head of House I have really enjoyed getting to know more of the McAuley students. In week 7 we held a house assembly. Students really showed their competitive sides competing in a fun, teamwork Olympic challenge. They needed to undo huge human knots and participate in penguin walking relays amongst other things. The ultimate winner was crowned at the end after a donut eating challenge. Congratulations to Laura Cavanagh, she took out the Olympic challenge by eating her donut in just over a minute and then singing Advance Australia Fair.
In week 8 we held our College Open Evening which was another wonderful opportunity to see our McAuley spirit in action. It was fantastic to see students proudly representing their College, welcoming families and contributing to the evening with such enthusiasm. These moments remind us that being part of a McAuley is about more than competition— it is about connection, contribution and belonging. I would like to say a special thank you to our house captains Charlotte Malcolm and Amy Price for helping with the evening.
We now turn our sights to St Stephen’s Day, which is Friday Week 10. St Stephen’s day is one of the highlights of the school year where we all get to come together and celebrate our culture. McAuley is working as a team to deliver the best skit yet. Stay tuned to find out who will be crowned the skit winners of 2026.
