Sports and Activities

On Sunday 23 August and Monday 24 August, many St Stephen’s Catholic College students travelled to Barlow Park in Cairns to compete in the Peninsula Track & Field Athletics. These students had previously excelled at the Tablelands Track & Field Athletics carnival held at Dimbulah State School on Friday 7 August.

The Peninsula Region for school sport is a very large geographical area that stretches from Cardwell in the South to the Torres Strait Islands in the North, and Croydon to the West. The best athletes from every school in the region (State Schools, Catholic Schools, Independent Schools) were in attendance. I have only included top 3 finishersin this report, however, many of our students placed in the top 10 in every event they competed in. This is a fantastic achievement and shows the high level of athletic excellence we are blessed to have at the College.

Special congratulations to the following students that have now qualified to represent the Peninsula Region at the Queensland State Track & Field Athletics in Brisbane on 15 -18 October 2026.
