Year 3 News

Welcome to our final week of Term 1!
As inquirers, students have been exploring the four different types of health: physical, social, spiritual, and mental. Through discussions and activities, we have been learning what each type means and discovering practical ways to look after ourselves. Students are excited to take their learning a step further by creating their own health messages for the community. We are looking forward to sharing ideas and encouraging others to make healthy choices in their everyday lives!
As resilient learners, we took part in a special online webinar with Kids Helpline titled “Online Safety”. We learnt about ways to stay safe online and how to avoid dangers.
As innovators, we participated in a cool incursion called ‘Clean Water’ hosted by Engineers Without Borders (EWB). Students explored how clean water can differ between various countries and its big impact on communities around the world. Students collaborated in groups to build a basic sand and gravel filter. We were very impressed with their designing skills!
Holiday Learning
Over the holiday break, please encourage your child to read and record in their school diary. Also, continue to practise their times tables (2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 10s) as we have worked hard on this and don’t want to lose our progress. Another idea might be to keep a holiday journal to record the fun activities and experiences to share back with the class at the beginning of Term 2.
Wishing our families a wonderful Easter break, and we look forward to many more exciting learning opportunities in Term 2!
