National Science Week at Strathmore

In Week 6, Strathmore celebrated National Science Week with a range of lunchtime activities!

On Wednesday students gathered in D12 and were challenged to build a boat out of aluminium foil which could hold the most weight! The winner held up to 750g before sinking!

Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble! Thursday saw students experiment with dry ice, making cauldrons, I mean beakers, bubble away as dry ice sublimated into gas when put into hot water.

Friday finished off the week with Science Trivia! Students gathered in groups to test their scientific knowledge against one another.

Congratulations to the winners Ignatius Koch 9A1, Ezzah Kaman 9S2, Zoe Pollard 9D1 and Zac Konstantinidis 9S1.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the activities, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
