Senior Art Exhibition 2026 re[connect]
Strathmore Secondary College’s 28th Senior Art Exhibition, re[connect], was a wonderful celebration of creativity, courage and community.
Held once again at Neon Parlour in Thornbury, this year’s exhibition showcased 88 works from 37 talented senior students, giving our young artists the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and present their work in a professional gallery to a real audience.
The theme re[connect] captured so much of what makes art, and this exhibition, so special. Art has the ability to connect us to ideas, places, memories and experiences. It can also give us the opportunity to slow down, explore what matters to us, see the world from a different perspective and connect with each other.
Our Celebration Evening brought together students, families, staff and friends to recognise the incredible work of our exhibiting artists. There was a fantastic energy in the gallery as our community spent time with the artworks, spoke with students about their ideas and celebrated the enormous amount of work that had gone into each piece.
To all of our exhibiting students, congratulations. Putting something you have created into a public space takes courage. We are incredibly proud not only of the final works presented, but also of the persistence, growth and commitment that sits behind them.
A huge thank you to our dedicated Art Team, James, G, Georgia, Bek, Helen, Tracy, Manda, Adam, Braydan, Danni and Gareth for the expertise, encouragement and countless hours invested in supporting our students and bringing the exhibition together.
We would also like to thank our families for continuing to encourage and support our young artists, our Music Department and student performer for helping make the Celebration Evening so special, and Neon Parlour for once again providing such a fantastic professional space for our students to share their work.
For 28 years, the Senior Art Exhibition has been an important part of the Strathmore Secondary College calendar, and re[connect] was another beautiful reminder of the creativity that exists within our community.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making this year’s exhibition such a success.
