SSV Eureka Year 7 Volleyball

On Friday 30th August BHS sent 2 teams (Year 7 Boys & Year 7 Girls) to the SSV Eureka Year 7 Volleyball competition at Daylesford Secondary College.

The Year 8 Boys competition had 4 teams in a round competition against Phoenix Secondary College (2 sets to 1 sets), Mount Clear College (2 sets to 1 sets) and Daylesford Secondary College (0 sets to 2 sets). Unfortunately, the team had stumbled at the final hurdle against a well drilled Daylesford Secondary College side. The team had finished 2nd for the competition.

The Year 7 Girls competition had 4 teams in a round competition against Mount Clear College (0 sets to 2 sets), Phoenix Secondary College (2 sets to 0 sets), Beaufort Secondary College (2 sets to 0 sets) & Daylesford Secondary College (0 sets to 2 sets). With 2 wins and 2 loses the team had tied in 2nd place alongside Mount Clear College and Phoenix College. After a countback the side was disappointingly demoted to 4th place.

Overall, all students had a great time in their first experiences at competitive volleyball.

SSV Eureka Primary School Basketball Helpers

On Friday 16th August a large group of Ballarat High School students attend the SSV Eureka Primary School Basketball event at the Selkirk Stadium.

BHS was pivotal to the overall implementation of the event providing most of the umpires and all the scorers! It is always a great way for the students to give back to the wider school community while also demonstrating the high calibre of student that we have here at Ballarat High School.

SSV Eureka Primary Division Coordinator Maria Kavanagh was full of praise for the BHS students and their conduct on the day. She is looking forward to hopefully having our students back at her events next year.  All the students said they had a fantastic time and volunteered to be a part of the event next year.
