2025 School Leaders

Introducing Our School Captains and Leadership Team for 2025

We are thrilled to announce our new School Captains and Leadership Team for 2025. Leading our student body with enthusiasm and dedication are our two school captains, Elise Slade and Harrison Wade, alongside our deputy captains, Emity Howlett and Charlie Hann.

Hi everyone, my name is Elise and I am so honoured to have been selected as a 2025 School Captain. This has been my dream since primary school and I'm so lucky to be able to watch it come true. I am a dedicated hard worker and am very excited to work towards potential events for next year such as fundraiser nights. I have already helped the Leadership Team achieve goals and events such as the World's Greatest Shave and attended events such as the Leadership Conference and the Gender Violence Forum. Leadership means a lot to me and I am so excited for next year!

Hi everyone my name is Harrison and I am more than proud to be representing the school as a 2025 School Captain. As a Leadership Team, we have already embarked on many many experiences such as the gendered violence forum, leadership camp and many others. It is a blessing to have earned this position of School Captain and I promise to help make Ballarat High become a better and more inclusive environment.

Hello everyone, my name is Emity and I am so excited to have been selected as a 2025 Vice Captain. This is something I am incredibly grateful to have received and I look forward to working with the rest of our Leadership Team to better Ballarat High's future.  I joined leadership in Year 9 and have continued with it through Years 10 and 11. Over this time, I have been involved in several special events including: the Worlds Greatest Shave, Leadership Conferences and Gender Based Violence Camp where I had the opportunity to grow and learn from other experienced leaders and first found my enjoyment for leadership. I cannot wait for the upcoming year.

I’m Charlie and I'm very excited to be part of the Leadership Team next year so I can help to make positive changes within the school and ensure we all have a fun and have a memorable 2025 school year. I spend a majority of my time meeting new people, joining theater productions and listening to music. Leadership has always been a field of interest for me evident in my involvement in the Leadership Team throughout the previous year, my past experience coaching wrestling and recently becoming an Ambassador of the Arch. I’m very grateful to be in this position and am looking forward to continuing working with all of these amazing people.

Joining them are our Year 12 Leadership Team members, each of whom brings their unique strengths and passions to the role:

Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Maddy Delmo and Sophie Dowse as our Vocational Major Captains, who will be focusing on Leadership within our Vocational Major program.

This whole team has already demonstrated an unwavering commitment to leadership throughout this year. Their involvement in the Year 11 Leadership Camp was particularly notable, where they not only honed their own leadership skills but also took the initiative to teach our staff about their innovative ideas for positive change within the school.

Moreover, they played a significant role in organizing and running the World’s Greatest Shave, raising over $6,000—a testament to their dedication and community spirit.

We are excited to see what this exceptional team will achieve in the coming year. Their growth as leaders will undoubtedly have a lasting impact and we look forward to watching them continue to develop into outstanding citizens within the Ballarat community.
