Ballarat High Library ran a range of activities during lunchtimes for the week 19th to 23rd August.  The Book Club and Creative Writing Club students assisted with the organisation of some of these activities.

On Tuesday 20th August lunchtime we had two Blooket quizzes related to books.  The scores were tight, but Sophie R managed to win both quizzes, with Eve G and Jesse H working together to take out 2nd place and Finch H taking out 3rd place in the first quiz and Princey T taking out 2nd place and Danicia K taking out 3rd place for the second quiz.

On Wednesday 21st August we ran a competition – The Illustrators Challenge.  The Creative Writing Club members had created a character, and Loretta wrote a descriptive story start which was read aloud as students then had to try to picture the character in their mind and draw it on paper or a device.  At the end students voted on which one they thought most accurately matched the descriptors, with Princey T declared the winner.

On Thursday 22nd August we hosted a Dress-up lunchtime parade, and it was great to see around 60 students got changed into costumes or donned hats, wigs or other accessories over their school uniforms to dress as a book character or along the magic theme.  It was also fantastic to see staff who dressed up for the entire day to inspire us all.  Every student who dressed up got a chocolate and we also gave out certificates and canteen vouchers to the following people:

Most Creative Twist – Grandmother from The Witches (Seth W)
