Primary School Sports Days Umpiring

Our College was invited to support the local Primary Schools by supplying voluntary umpires for their winter sports carnivals. On Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd May, we attended the World Centre Netball Courts, West Bairnsdale Oval and the Paynesville Sporting Precinct with 14 community minded students with previous umpiring experience, who jumped at the chance to get some fresh air and represent our College.

Many of them enjoyed umpiring their old primary schools with previous teachers mentioning how much they had grown up and what a fantastic job they were doing. Throughout the sporting carnival the students showed much maturity and confidence in their very important roles. It is important to recognise the integral role that umpire and officials play in sporting events and programs.

Thankyou from the East Gippsland Primary Schools sporting community.
