Intermediate Sport Results

On Thu 7 March, we sent out our cricket, tennis and volleyball teams to compete in the Knox Division championships. Here are the results:

Boys and Girls Volleyball - Our boys and girls teams battled hard all day, however they came up against some extremely strong opposition from Upwey and Rowville. Unfortunately, neither team progressed through to EMR. See 'Intermediate Volleyball' page for all the details.

Boys Tennis – We finished in 3rd place behind two very talented Rowville Teams.

Boys Cricket – The boys lost to Upwey in their semi-final match and then managed to have a win against Rowville West in the 3rd Place playoff to take out 3rd place. See 'Intermediate Cricket' page for all the details!

Boys Baseball and Girls Softball - Our intermediate boys baseball team and girls softball team progressed straight through to the Eastern Metropolitan Region Finals.  They’ll play on Tuesday 23 April. If they win, they’ll play in the State Quarter Finals. Good luck!

Knox Division Swimming

Records break as Wantirna Swimmers take on Knox Division Swimming!

A group of 35 students travelled to Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Friday 8 March. Our swimmers were faced with lovely weather and fantastic competition from local school. The winners of each event progressed to the EMR championships, to be held in Ringwood on the 26th of March.  Please find results below.

A special mention goes to Oscar Magalotti, who placed 1st in four events, and 2nd in another, as well as two relay wins! With Oscar’s first swim of the day he broke the record in the 12-15 Boys 200m Freestyle where he swam 2:22.18, smashing the previous record of 2:25.19. Later in the day he swam the 12-15 Boys 100m Freestyle in 1:06.76, beating the previous record of 1:07.46. Congratulations Oscar on your fantastic results and creating history.

Overall, we finished 3rd place out of the 10 schools in our division.
