On Friday 22 March, Year 12 students had the opportunity to face off against Wantirna College staff in a game of dodgeball. A big thank-you to Jai and Rico for creating great vibes by DJ-ing. Thanks to everyone who got involved, it was great to see so many people playing and having fun. The event was highlighted by Miss Mingos, Jade, Ash and Ally's commentary.
The teachers started strong. At one point Ms Lay and Mr Rogers were able to get the dodgeball in the basketball ring, bringing all the teachers back in the game. Midway through the game Mr Rogers carried the team by being the last one standing. However, despite the pressure he still managed to catch a few balls to get some teammates back in the game, before being hit in the face. The game ended with the students having a free for all and the teachers coming off unbruised.

Year 10 2024 has started off strong with many opportunities coming about. We are getting excited about Work Experience with everyone choosing where to go. This is a great opportunity for Year 10s to become experienced in the workforce and figure out what we may want to do. Work experience will give everyone an insight into what work life is like and how to problem solve and deal in different situations.
Open Night was another successful representation of the school. There were many Year 10 students representing our school in such a great way. Whether that be preforming a musical instrument, signing vocals or being a guide for families coming to visit.
Many Year 10 students have been participating in the Peer support program. This term they went to Year 7 camp which was such a great experience. Peer support leaders have been able to guide the Year 7s into starting high school and helping them come out of their comfort zones. As Peer Support Leaders they have been able to teach the Year 7s valuable skills and lessons. This has been a great opportunity for Year 10s to also develop new leadership and collaborative skills and create new friendships.
We have been recently introduced to Northern Territory Camp for 2025. This has made us all very excited about the upcoming years and all the exciting things for the future.
Many Year 10s also participated in the Wantirna College Swimming Carnival. We would like to congratulate those students for representing the school as well as gaining points for their houses.
