Principal Report

End of Term 3

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, I would like to take the opportunity to reflect on some of the wonderful achievements and experiences across our College community.

Firstly, I would like to sincerely thank Kathryn Henderson, who stepped into the role of Acting Principal while I took a short period of Long Service Leave to spend some valuable time with my family. I am grateful to Kathryn and others who supported my absence for their leadership and support of our students, staff, and wider College community during this time.

Our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences were another successful part of the term, providing a valuable opportunity for families and teachers to connect, share feedback, and have meaningful conversations about student progress. These partnerships between home and school are an important part of supporting our students to achieve their best, and I thank our families and staff for their engagement.

There has also been plenty happening in our classrooms, particularly for our Year 12 VCE students, who commenced their trial examinations late this term in preparation for their final VCE examinations. There is now not much time remaining for our Year 12 Cohort as they approach the conclusion of their formal secondary schooling. We wish them every success as they enter this important final stage and encourage them to make the most of the opportunities and support available to them.

A particular highlight of the term was the outstanding success of Matilda JR. production. Our students across the College came together to deliver a wonderful production, demonstrating incredible talent, commitment, and teamwork. Congratulations to all the students involved, both on and offstage, and to the staff who led and supported them throughout the production.

Our students have also continued to excel in the sporting arena. We are particularly proud of the 31 students who have progressed to the Regional Athletics competition, which will take place early next term. Congratulations also to our Year 8 Girls, who competed at the State Finals.

Lastly, the latter part of the term offered unique experiences and opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom. Our Year 10 Outdoor Education students enjoyed an overnight camp at Mt Baw Baw, which provided opportunities to develop independence, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills. Our Year 9 students finished the term with a Melbourne City Experience Camp, exploring our city and engaging in a range of educational and cultural experiences. These programs are an important part of developing respectful and connected young people.

As we head into the break, I would like to thank our students, staff, and families for their continued commitment to our College.
