RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CURRICULUM

In Week Four, our Year Three and Year Five students will sit the Religious Education Assessment. The Religious Education Assessment is an online assessment completed by students in Years 3, 5 and 9 across Catholic schools in Western Australia. It helps schools understand how well students are learning the content of the Religious Education curriculum.

The assessment focuses on students' knowledge and understanding of:

  • Scripture and the Bible

  • Catholic beliefs and teachings

  • Prayer and liturgy

  • The Church and its traditions

  • How faith is lived in everyday life

The REA is not a test of a student's personal faith or relationship with God. Instead, it assesses what students have learned through their Religious Education lessons.

The results help our teachers identify areas of strength and areas for improvement in teaching Religious Education. It also allows us as a school to monitor student progress over time. Results from the Religious Assessment are also shared with parents so they can celebrate their child’s growth.

The Religious Education Assessment provides valuable information for schools, teachers and families about students' learning in Religious Education.
