P&F Meeting
The next P&F Meeting will take place on Tuesday 3 August at 5:00pm in the Library. All Parents and Caregivers are welcome to attend.
St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Mass
On Tuesday 4 August we will celebrate MacKillop Mass at 11:15am in the UnderCover Area. Everyone is welcome to attend. Students in MacKillop are asked to wear their faction shirt on the day.
Hoodies, Oodies and Uggs Day
Students are invited to wear their oodies, hoodies and ugg boots on Friday 7 August for a gold coin donation that will go to LifeLink.
MacKillop Sausage Sizzle
Students in MacKillop will join together for sausage sizzle lunch on Monday 10 August and are asked to wear their MacKillop shirt on the day.
Altar Server Training
Children who wish to Altar Serve during school masses and possibly in the Parish are asked to attend a training session on Tuesday 11 August 2026 at 3:30pm at St Helena of the Holy Cross Church. Children must have received the Sacrament of the Eucharist to participate in the training. Training will run from 3:30pm until 4:30pm and Fr Bona will be supported by school staff. Sign up here.

Parent and Caregiver Code of Conduct
Following consultation with parent groups and school leaders, Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) has introduced a new Parent and Carer Code of Conduct.
The Parent and Carer Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members of our Catholic school community, with the commitment to maintain schools as safe, welcoming and supportive environments for our students.

Australian Census
On 11 August, Australians will take part in the national Census, conducted every five years by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). One of the optional questions asks about religious affiliation. This information helps the Catholic Church better understand and support local communities by assisting with planning for schools, parishes, welfare services, health care and other ministries. Census data has long been an important resource in helping Catholic organisations respond to the needs of families across Australia.
Families who identify as Catholic are encouraged to select “Catholic” when completing the Census, as this helps provide an accurate picture of the Catholic community. Members of Eastern Rite Catholic communities, such as Ukrainian, Maronite, Melkite, Chaldean or Syro-Malabar Catholics, are encouraged to select “Other” and write in their specific Catholic tradition (for example, “Ukrainian Catholic”) so that their community is accurately represented.
While the religion question is optional, participation helps ensure Catholic communities and services are appropriately planned for the future.
WA Student Assistance Payment 2026
The WA Student Assistance Payment is available to parents and carers from Monday 20 July until Friday 25 September of students from Kindergarten to Year 12. $150 is provided for each Kindergarten and primary school student.
The payment is available for all students with an active enrolment at a WA school, including International full fee-paying students. To apply for their payment through the Services WA App, however paper-based forms will also be accessible from the Department of Education. Parents and Caregivers may contact the ServiceWA Customer Care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for assistance on 13 3392 or email support@digital.wa.gov.au during business hours.
You will need your child’s WASN (Western Australian Student Number) number, which can be found on their attendance report accessed through SEQTA, listed on the front page under 'Student Government ID'.
Protect your Family from Influenza
The Department of Health is encouraging families to protect themselves and the broader community against influenza this season.
Influenza (flu) is a highly contagious illness that can cause serious illness in children, even those who are usually healthy. Annual vaccination is the best way to protect your child, reduce time away from school, and help protect vulnerable members of our community, including babies and older adults. As flu strains change each year, the vaccine is updated annually, making yearly vaccination important for ongoing protection.
Influenza vaccination is recommended for all children aged six months and over. In Western Australia, flu vaccines are free until 31 July 2026 for everyone aged six months and older (consultation fees may apply). Children aged 2–17 years can also receive FluMist®, a needle-free nasal spray vaccine, as an alternative to an injection. Vaccinations are available through GPs, participating pharmacies, Aboriginal Medical Services and other immunisation providers. More information is available at access.health.wa.gov.au/immunisation.
