End of Term 3:
Walking Well Together: A Message for Our School Community
As we move through the rhythm of the term, it’s a good moment to pause and recognise the effort, growth, and resilience our students continue to show. Every day, they navigate academic challenges, build friendships, learn from mistakes, and show courage in the way they step into new experiences. Their energy, creativity, and curiosity inspire our staff and strengthen the heart of our school.
This term has also highlighted the power of connection — in classrooms, in the yard, and at home. The small moments matter: a conversation on the drive home, a shared meal, a walk after dinner, or simply sitting together without devices. These moments help young people feel grounded, supported, and seen. They remind them that they are surrounded by adults who care deeply about their wellbeing.
As we look ahead, we encourage families to celebrate the small wins: the completed assignment, the brave conversation, the new friendship, the moment your young person tried something they weren’t sure they could do. These are the building blocks of confidence and resilience.
Thank you for partnering with us. Your encouragement, communication, and trust help shape a strong, connected, culturally safe school community where every student feels valued and supported.
Building Resilience, Respect, and High Expectations Through Teamwork
At the heart of our school culture is a belief that young people thrive when they are challenged, supported, and surrounded by adults who believe in their potential.
We set high expectations because we know our students are capable of extraordinary growth, and we walk beside them as they learn to persevere through setbacks and celebrate progress. Resilience is built in these moments — when students try again, ask for help, or choose to respond with courage rather than frustration. Just as importantly, we continue to nurture a culture of respect, where every student feels safe to express themselves, listen to others, and contribute positively to their community. None of this happens alone. It is strengthened through teamwork — between students, staff, and families — working together to create an environment where young people feel supported, valued, and inspired to be their best selves.
Year 12: Stepping Forward with Positive Intent and a Brave Attitude
As our Year 12 students move toward the final stretch of their schooling, we want to remind them that the future is not something to fear — it is something tostep into with purpose, confidence, and positive intent. These next months are filled with decisions, opportunities, and moments of growth, and every one of them is a chance to shape the path ahead.
A positive attitude doesn’t mean pretending everything is easy. It means choosing to approach challenges with curiosity rather than worry, and seeing setbacks as part of the learning journey rather than signs of failure. When students bring optimism, effort, and self‑belief to their final year, they discover strengths they didn’t know they had.
We encourage our Year 12s to trust themselves, lean on their support networks, and remember that they are capable, resilient, and ready. The future is not a cliff — it’s a horizon. And they have everything they need to walk toward it with courage.
Enjoy the September break and remember to take some time to stop and get some rest. Remember if you are studying for exams to take an opportunity to take a break so that you can work at your best. Door of the Kenko Centre is always open.
