The Resilience Project

Camden High School have signed on as a Partner School in 2025 to embrace and roll out The Resilience Project’s school program to inspire and engage young people.
The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools, sports clubs and businesses, providing practical, evidence-based mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness. Through presentations, school curriculum, events, the TRP App, and Wellbeing Journals, we share the benefits of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness, and easy ways to practise these in everyday life. We also incorporate Emotional Literacy, Connection and Physical Health education and activities as they are foundational contributors to positive mental health.
To gain an accurate understanding of our students’ strengths and challenges, we will be conducting the Student Resilience Survey developed by Resilient Youth Australia and the University of South Australia. In recent years, more than 900,000 young people aged between 7–19 have been surveyed, across 3,500 schools globally. The results have been used to make informed and practical decisions about targeted resilience initiatives.
The Student Resilience Survey will be administered to Year 7 and 8 students at Camden High School online during class. It typically takes 30–50 minutes to complete the survey, and participation is voluntary and anonymous. The data from the survey will be reported in aggregate descriptive form only, by year level and gender, and no individual student responses can be identified. The results will provide valuable information to help us create and maintain the best culture of wellbeing and resilience that we can here at Camden High School.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s participation in this survey, please contact Joel Berrell (HT Wellbeing) or Siobhan Hay (Rel. HT Wellbeing Term 2).
A reminder when supporting your children’s mental health, we know the best outcomes happen when we work together and practise.
One way you can support your child is to visit the TRP Parent Hub here: https://theresilienceproject.com.au/2025-parent-carer-hub-inspire-1/
Part of our school practise this year is having GEM (Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness) Chats. These are easy prompts that staff and students will be engaging with to build on their emotional skills and improving the positive culture at Camden High School. Parents and carers are also encouraged to have GEM chats with their children and family. There are examples in your child’s school planner, and more will be pushed out on our social media platforms and communication avenues.
