Less than 100 days of school left for our Year 12s and it's great to see them think about what comes next. So many choices. Here are some quick tips that will help at this time of year for each pathway.

University

  • Students will receive their University Admissions Centre login, is should be kept somewhere safe so it can be easily found later in Term 3.

  • Mark each University Open Day in your calendar and register for any of the number of future student engagement opportunities. ... Each university links these on their home page. Parents are also welcome.

  • Students could start checking out the Early Entry requirements for their preferred University (they will get a lot of help at school during Term 2 and 3)

  • Mark the University Open Day in your calendar

  • Check out course structures i.e. 24 units, Fixed Core subjects, elective subjects and opportunities to study overseas.

  • Check out University Fees - which band is your course? In demand jobs are heavily subsidised by the Government. ... Band 1 (e.g. Anything Maths, Agriculture, Teaching, Nursing) is approx $4000 per year ... Band 2 is majority of in demand courses such as Science, Environmental, Engineering and many more $8000 per year ... through to Band 4 at $16000 for Communications, Law and Cultural studies.

TAFE

  • Get to upcoming Information Sessions either live or on-line. There will be a lot of sessions aimed at the July intake. It's an excellent opportunity to get ahead of the game and find out some information for next year.

Working

  • It is much easier to get your first job while you are still at school!!

  • If students don't have a job yet, the upcoming school holidays is a great opportunity to start connecting with employers that they hope to work with.
