Support Faculty Snapshot

Technology

Students in Technology have been diving headfirst into the world of Agriculture Technology, and they have been having a blast! They've been getting their hands dirty at the school agriculture plot and the fabulous faculty garden, learning all about plant spacing and the art of growing seedlings.

These green-thumbed geniuses also rolled up their sleeves to design and craft a scarecrow masterpiece for the Camden Show - this is still a work in progress. The students can’t wait to see their final creation on display! Keep an eye out, Stage 4 families - more details and permission slips are coming your way soon for the students to attend the show so they can be present at the show when the results of the competition are announced.

Science

Stage 4

What a great start to the year we have enjoyed with our keen Year 7 students, showing how clever and interested they are in Science.  We have been learning about living things, with a closer look at homeostasis and the symbiotic nature of animals and plants.  We have been experimenting with photosynthesis and have contributed to the Support garden with some of our samples.  We will be delving into body systems to finish off the term.  Many students have begun their assessments and we are very excited to see some of their designs come to life!

Stage 5

We have been learning about Motion.  Calculating speed and acceleration and developing our understanding of Newton’s Laws of Motion. The students have also been doing experiments whilst they made electricity.

HSIE

Our Stage 4classes have a lot of new Year 7s that have come to join us. We welcome them to Camden HS. This term in History Stage 4 will be learning about the Vikings: their journeys, their customs and their impact on Europe. ... Did you know Ms Lucy’s History class now address themselves by their Viking names?

Stage 5

Stage 5 have made a brilliant start to the year in History! All three classes have brought their strongest work ethic. This year we will be studying the topics of: the Holocaust and Human Rights. We have been learning about villains and heroes and examining the cogs of the Nazi machine.
